Adoniram Judson (1788-1850)
Adoniram was the first American missionary to a foreign land. He was a missionary to Burma (Myanmar) and labored intensely for over 30 years as an ambassador for Christ to the Burmese people. His life was marked by extreme hardship, suffering, persecution, pain, emotional trauma, and death all around him, yet in the face of all adversity, he persevered in faith to carry the Gospel to the heathen.
